Silver eases, gold steady
Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) Spot silver eased by Rs five per kg on thin buying support while gold remained steady on moderate demand today, at the Bombay Bullion Exchange, Silver fineness opened high at Rs 20,745 per kg on better buying support. Later, it declined and closed at Rs 20,695 per kg with a loss of Rs five from its yesterday's close.
In London, the white metal also fell to 14.57/14.60 per troy ounce against USD 14.62/14.65 per troy ounce in New York.
However, standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) opened upwards at Rs 9,830 and Rs 9,880 per ten gm on reduced stock supplies.
The yellow metal moved downwards and closed at yesterday's level of Rs 9,820 and Rs 9,865 per ten gm.
In London, the yellow metal went up at USD 676.80/679.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 683.40/685.30 per troy ounce in New York on Monday.
Following are the spot silver and gold closing prices: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 20,695 (20,700), Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 9,820 (9,820), Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,865 (9,865).
