Quattrocchi, inflation issues force R S adjournment till 1230

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha was today adjourned till 1230 hrs after the Opposition and ruling UPA allies disrupted the proceedings over Quattrocchi and price rise issues.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, the NDA, led by the BJP, and the Samajwadi Party members shouted slogans over the alleged suppresion of information about Bofors pay-offs accused Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi's arrest and subsequent release in Argentina.

The Left also made an uproarious protest over the rising inflation. Soon, the SP members also joined the Left in raising slogans against the price rise.

NDA members even rushed into the well of the House.

Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat looked on as the din made it impossible to hear anything being said. He finally decided to suspend the proceedings till 1230 hrs.
