MP BJP pleased with election results

Bhopal, Feb 27 (UNI) Expressing happiness over assembly election results in three states, the Madhya Pradesh BJP today declared it as a mandate for the policies of the BJP.

On the other hand, the Congress accepted its defeat and pledged to discharge its role as an opposition effectively.

State BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar said electorate had taught the Congress a lesson in Punjab and Uttarakhand for not fulfilling its promises. He felt the results indicated the mood of voters.

Thanking the electorate, he said the Congress must show courage and accept defeat.

A pleasant atmosphere filled the party office and party workers distributed sweets following the declaration of results in Punjab and Uttaranchal.

Meanwhile, state Congress General Secretary Manak Agrawal accepted defeat in the two states thanked the voters to provide the Congress an opportunity to discharge responsibility as an opposition.

However, he said, the results were not surprising, as voters had made it a tradition to change party.
