Minorities Commission demands CBI inquiry in Nanded blast
Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) Maharashtra state Minorities Commission today demanded a CBI inquiry into the blast in a godown at Nanded on February 10 in which one person was killed and another injured.
Commission chairman Mohammad Naseem Siddiqui told reporters the manner in which the incident was investigated has created unrest among the minority community.
He alleged that for claiming damages from insurance company, the police had stated fire to be the cause ofthe blast inthe godown and gave a clean chit to the accused.
Mr Siddiqui criticised RPI leader Prof Jogendra Kawade for allegedly playing in the hands of BJP and Shiv Sena to tarnish the image of Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil in connection with the Khairlanji massacre in which four members of a Dalit family were killed.
''Prof Kawade is making a false propaganda against the Maharashtra government and a defamation case should be filed against him for the same'', demanded Mr Siddiqui.
