Prakash Singh Badal to become Punjab CM
Bangalore, Feb 27: Counting of votes polled in the assembly elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur began this morning amid tight security. The results so far are
In Punjab(116 seats) Akali-BJP to form Government. Sidhu leading by 78000 votes in Amritser. Results so far are Congress: 47 The Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)-BJP 65 and Others 4.
Prakash Singh Badal wins from Lambi.He is likely to become the new Chief Minister of Punjab. Congress' Amarinder Singh leads in Patiala.
In Uttarakhand(67/70 seats): BM Khanduri likely become the new Chief Minister. BJP to meet to decide CM in Uttarakhand. BJP leads by 35 seats, Congress 16 and others 13.
In Manipur(30/60): So far 11 results are declared. No party has yet been able to show a distinct advantage in the 60-member Assembly. Congress so far gained 4 seats, followed by NCP with 3 and RJD 4 and Others 4.
CPI gets 2 seats. The NCP and the RJD seemed set to play a key role in the formation of a new Ministry.
