Election results not a referendum on Centre: PM
New Delhi, Feb 27: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said the defeat of the Congress in the assembly polls in Punjab and Uttarakhand would have no bearing on the Centre as it was not a ''referendum'' against the UPA.
''I am not saying there is no fallout. However, these elections have no bearing on the Centre'' as these were fought on state-specific issues, Dr Singh told reporters in Parliament House.
