SPO killed in Chhattisgarh
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 26 (UNI) A special police officer (SPO) has been killed and two injured by a naxal landmine explosion near Bijapur in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, the police said.
A bomb disposal squad was requisitioned following apprehension of a landmine planted near Pamalbaya village on the Bijapur-Gangalur road.
After the squad completed its work on the device last evening, it was believed to have been defused. However, a blast took place at that juncture severely injuring Head Constable Veerendra Singh, SPOs Kantaiya and Ramchandra who succumbed during treatment.
