Opposition BJP force adjournment of MCD House

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) The Opposition BJP in the MCD today forced adjournment of the House, just after it began, in protest over the Chair not allowing a discussion on issues raised by them.

Immediately after the House began, the BJP demanded a discussion on the issue of sanitation, which was declined by the Chair saying a short discussion notice on the issue of desealing of shops located on 2183 notified roads was already on the agenda.

This led the members of the Opposition to indulge in slogan shouting against the ruling party. They alleged that ever since the notification of the 2021 Master Plan, they have not been allowed to raise any issues in the House.

Amid the bedlam, the Chair passed the agenda of the House and thereafter, adjourned the House.

Talking to newspersons, Leader of the House Jitender Kochar criticised the opposition's behaviour in the House.

Due to the Opposition furore, a discussion on the important issue of desealing of shops located on 2183 roads notified as commercial or mixed use sreets could not be held, he said.
