MP Budget delayed due to oppn bedlam
Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Budget for 2007-08 was presented about ten minutes behind schedule in the state Assembly today courtesy pandemonium and constant interruption by the opposition.
After the House assembled for the day, Speaker Ishwar Das Rohani told Finance Minister Raghavji -- at the appointed time 1030 hrs -- to present the document. At that juncture, Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi and several other main opposition Congress members began shouting over the postponement of question hour.
Amidst the din, Mr Rohani referred to a decision taken at a Business Advisory Committee meeting and said that the arrangement was made on account of the budget. ''I urge the opposition to stay calm. The Leader of the Opposition also attended that meeting and concurred with this arrangement.'' UNI
