Darjeeling's eye on Union Budget session
Darjeeling, Feb 26 (UNI) People and politicians of Darjeeling are looking forward to the implementation of the Sixth Schedule status for Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) during the ongoing Union Budget session.

told
UNI,
''We
expect
that
the
bill
will
be
passed
during
this
budget
session.
We
are
keeping
in
touch
with
the
Union
Home
ministry
and
West
Bengal
Home
department
to
get
the
confirmation
of
its
implementation.''
The
election
to
the
DGHC
would
take
place
after
implementation
of
the
Sixth
Schedule,
he
added.

Bengal

Development
and
Municipal
Affairs
Minister
Asok
Bhattacharya
told
UNI,
''The
state
government
had
forwarded
all
the
data
to
the
central
government
for
granting
the
status
to
DGHC.''
