BJP showed 'historic low' by disrupting budget:Sibal
New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Criticising the BJP for showing yet another ''historic low'' by their protests on the Quattrocchi issue during presentation of the Railway Budget in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader and Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal said never before had the proceedings been disturbed like the way it was done today.
Refusing to comment on the Quattrocchi issue as Parliament was in session, Mr Sibal said the Congress would give its comment within the House.
Denying that the government was on the defensive on the Quattrocchi issue, he said the party would come clear of it in a day or two by making a statement. The government has not done anything wrong and has nothing to hide, he added.
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP for trying to interrupt the proceedings during the budget speech of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, he said the nature of language that was used and the nature of allegations made by the opposition MPs was shameful.
''I do not expect any responsible citizen of the country to make such unruly, crude and inexplicable remarks,'' he said.
He said never in the history of Parliament had any such situation been witnessed as was done today due to the ''incorrect'' behaviour of the BJP MPs.
Pointing out that only a few of the BJP MPs rushed into the well while others kept sitting, he said the Samajwadi Party MPs had walked out of the house while the JD(U) members kept sitting.
