AP govt will not revive APCOCA: YSR

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said his government would not revive the AP Control of Organised Crime Act (APCOCA).

Assuring a delegation from the United Muslim Action Committee that he would find out if there was a proposal to revive APCOCA and ensure that no such law was enacted, Dr Reddy said he had opposed the revival of the act during the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime. The bill on APCOCA would not be introduced in the Assembly during the budget session.

The Chief Minister also agreed to the demand of the committee to revise the revenue records of wakf lands as published in the official gazzette, a press release said here.
