RLD MLA joins BSP

Lucknow, Feb 25 (UNI) Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MLA from Jansath Reserve constituency in Muzaffarnagar Yashwant Singh today joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Early in the day, Dr Singh tendered his resignation to BSP supremo Mayawati, in line with the other BSP MLAs who had handed over their resignations to the party supremo as per her directives.

Yesterday, 67 BSP MLAs in Uttar Pradesh resigned from the state Assembly. The eleven other MLAs -- BJP (5), SP (4), IND (2) -- also resigned and joined the BSP.

The BSP legislators have submitted their resignations to party supremo Mayawati, who will send it to the Assembly speaker tommorow.

The move was aimed to protest the proposed Trust Vote Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav plans to seek in the Assembly tommorow.
