Nine killed in a road mishap
Bhadravathi, Karnataka, Feb 25 (UNI) Nine people were killed and a four year old child was injured, when a Maruti van in which they were travelling collided head on with a petrol tanker at Bhadravati bypass during the early hours of today.
Police said that, while eight people were killed on the spot, a 10-year-old boy, succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
The victims belonging to two families hailing from Halkola village in Shimoga District, were returning to their village after visiting Lakshminarasimha Temple in Gubbi in Tumkur district when the mishap occurred.
The injured had been admitted to a hospital.
Driver of the Petrol Tanker had been arrested.
