Chappell's visit lands resort owner in trouble
Alappuzha, Kerala, Feb 25 (UNI) Team India cricket coach Greg Chappell's visit to Kerala and a cruise in the backwaters had landed the owner of a resort in Muhamma, near here, in trouble with the police filing a case against the owner.
The District Superintendent of Police had directed the Muhamma police to file a case against the owner of the Kovikam Resort for not informing the stay of Mr Chappell and his wife at the resort, sources told UNI.
The stay and outing of a foreigner had to be informed to the authorities concerned, as Mr Chappell belonged to the high security category, police added.
It was reported that Mr Chappell and his wife stayed on a houseboat in Kovilakam Resort and also roamed the city in an autorickshaw.
Mr Chappell, who was here on a private visit, also visited the Indian paceman S Sreeshanth's house in Kochi.
