Stringent steps needed to curb terrorism: Forward Bloc
New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) All India Forward Bloc today castigated the UPA government for its ''failure to curb terrorism'' in the country.
''In all the incidents (Bomb blasts in Maharashtra, J&K, and fireblast in Samjhauta Express) serious lapses of security arrangements have been noticed. The government should take stringent measures to curb terrorism,'' Forward Bloc General Secretary Debabrata Biswas said giving details of the party's Central Committee meeting.
In Uttar Pradesh, the Forward Bloc will have alliance with the Samajwadi Party in the coming Assembly elections, and would do its utmost to unite the left progressive and secular votes in the state.
The Committee endorsed the decision of the State Committee in Jharkhand to withdraw the party's outside support to the Madhu Koda-led UPA government, and said the party would write to the Assembly Speaker in this regard.
It also decided that the party would launch a nationwide movement against atrocities against women, dalits and adivasis.
The Committee will meet on March 17-19 at Kolkata to review the current socio-political situation.
