Shaukat Aziz asks minister to stay in touch with India

Islamabad, Feb 24 (UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has directed Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to stay in touch with his Indian counterpart Lalu Prasad to review the entire system and procedures to ensure better safety and facilities for Samjhauta Express passengers.

Mr Aziz also asked Mr Rashid to adopt better security measures against terrorism for the Samjhauta Express.

"Pakistan has requested India to keep it informed about the investigation into the train incident," Daily Times quoted Mr Aziz as saying during an informal meeting with his ministers in Islamabad.

He said the injured would be treated at the best burn centres of the country.

"Pakistan is committed to composite dialogue with India because resolution of outstanding issues, especially Kashmir, will ensure sustainable peace and stability in South Asia", he said.

Foreign Minister Kurshid Mehmood Kasuri briefed the meeting on his recent visit to India and his meetings with Indian and Kashmiri leaders in New Delhi.
