Lunar eclipse on March 4

Chandigarh, Feb 24 (UNI) A total eclipse of the moon will occur from 0300 hrs to 0642 hrs on March 4.

The three hour forty-two minute long eclipse will be visible from all parts of India, according to a Meteorologist here.

The beginning and the ending of total phase of the eclipse besides its partial phase will be visible from all parts of the country.

The ending of the partial phase of the eclipse will be visible only from the north, north-west and western parts of India. In the remaining parts of India, the moon sets before the eclipse ends.

The eclipse will be also visible from the Arctic, Asia, except the eastern part, Europe including the British Isles, Africa, South America and the eastern parts of central and North America.

The beginning of the umbral phase will be visible in Western Australia, extreme south-western tips of Japan, extreme eastern parts of China, Eastern Russia, Philippnes and Indonesia. The ending will be visible in South Pacific Ocean, Mexico, Central part of United States of America and Central Canada.
