Landslide kills at least 11 in Pakistani Kashmir
MUZAFFARABAD, Pakistan, Feb 24 (Reuters) A landslide triggered by rains struck a van in Pakistani Kashmir today, killing at least 11 people, police said.
The van with around 20 passengers on board was travelling in the southern district of Poonch when it was hit by the landslide.
''Eleven bodies have been recovered and five seriously wounded people have also been pulled out,'' local police official Mohammad Anwar said, adding that rescuers were searching for ay remaining passangers.
Landslides are common in Pakistan's northern mountainous areas, which were hit by a massive earthquake in October 2005 that killed more than 73,000 people.
