Govt committed to safeguard Hajis' interests
Hyderabad Feb 24 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government was committed to safeguarding the interests of Haj pilgrims, Minorities Welfare Minister Mohd Fareeduddin said today.
Addressing the first meeting of Haj and Umra Tours Organisation Welfare Assocition, the Minister assured the Hajis that he would urge Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and the Central Haj Committee to increase the quota for tour operators from the state from 1800 to 6000, increasing amenities for pilgrims and getting In time visas for them.
CPI Rajya Sabha member Aziz Pasha, in his address, said he would raise the demand for increasing the quota for Hajis during the ongoing Budget Session of Parliament, a release from the association said.
