Draft electoral rolls to be published on Feb 26

Shimla, Feb 24 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manisha Nanda today said draft photo electoral rolls for Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una and Jaswan, Pragpur assembly constituencies of Kangra district and Jawalamukhi constituency in Hamirpur district will be published on February 26.

The electoral rolls would be available for inspection to the public in the offices of ADM and SDM, assistant electoral registration officers (tehsildars) and respective polling stations from February 26 to March 12, she said in a release here.

Ms Nanda said voters who have completed 18 years of age on January 1, 2007 and whose names have not been included in the rolls could apply on Form-6 for inclusion of their names in the photo electoral rolls.

Objections or claims, if any, could be filed in the offices of the SDM and ADM, Assistant Registration Officers (Tehsildars) and deputed officers at polling booths between February 26 and March 12, he said.

She said photo electoral rolls would be finally published on April 10, 2007.
