Punjab LJP unit protest against Nishabd

Jalandhar, Feb 23 (UNI) The Punjab unit of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today burnt the posters of superstar Amitabh Bachchan, in protest against his controversial role in film 'Nishabd'.

The film deals with the psychology of a 60-year-old man who falls in love with an 18-year-old girl.

While demanding a ban on the screening of the movie, Punjab LJP general secretary Parminder Singh Kala said,''The character in the film played by Amitabh is against the traditions of our society and it will adversarly affect the psychology of the children.'' He also demanded strict action against the filmmaker so that in future no one dared to do such controversial films.

'Nishabd' is Ramgopal Varma's latest film about human relationships which stars Amitabh Bachchan and newcomer Jiah Khan.
