Oxyrich gets Indian Patent and ISO certificate

Ahmedabad, Feb 23: The Manikchand Group yesterday announced that ithad given a process patent and ISO 22000 certificate for their'oxygenation process for Oxyrich', the only oxygenated bottled drinkingwater in the country.

Addressing reporters, Chief Executive Officer of Manikchand GroupAjit Jain said that this is the only product in the packaged bottleddrinking water segment to receive the ISO 22000:2005 certification toits Pune plant, which is the world's most stringent standard for thefood safety management system.

He said that the water used in Oxyrich is from protected wellswhich meets the Indian standard and processed without chemicals byusing unique technology, a combination of activated carbon filtration,ultra filtration, reverse Osmosis, ultra violent and ozonation andsuper charged with 300 per cent more oxygen.

Jain also announced to set up a manufacturing plant near Ahmedabadon franchise basis to meet the bottled water requirements of Gujaratcustomers by August 2007. The Ahmedabad plant will have a productioncapacity of around 25 million liters per annum. The company will set upsimilar units in Mumbai, Lucknow shortly and negotations are forChandigarh and Jaipur project, he added.

Oxyrich currently has plants situated at Pune, Bangalore,Chennai,Hyderabad, Haridwar, Aurangabad and Kolhapur. The combined capacity ofthese plants is over 2.75 billion litres per year.

He said that Oxyrich is in the premium segment of the market whichis being priced at Rs 15 per one litre bottle while company hasrecently launched ''Taral'' priced at Rs 12 has all the superiorproduct features except the oxygenation process.
