Metal up on fresh demand
Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Metals went up today due to increase of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous category, copper heavy and brass cutting increased by Rs 900 and Rs 500, respectively, on higher advice.
Copper utencils and brass utencils also hiked by Rs 200 each on reduced stock supply.
In the non-ferrous category copper wire bar shot up by Rs 500 per quintal while zinc slab and lead ingot also rose by Rs 100 each on good demand.
Tin slab went up by Rs 15 per kg on better buying support.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 30,500, copper utensils - Rs 28,000, brass utensils - Rs 23,000, brass cuttings - Rs 24,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 33,500, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, zinc slab Rs 18,000, lead ingots - Rs 8,000, tin slab - Rs 680 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,980 (per kg).
