Maoists kill TDP worker
Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 23 (UNI) A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) worker was allegedly shot dead by Maoists in Yellupalli village of Prakasham district in the state, this morning.
The deceased was identified as Eruva Tirupal Reddy (55), a former Sarpanch of the village, police said.
Mr Reddy had been warned by the Maoists for being an informer to the police. He had left his village four months ago fearing threat to his life and was residing at Giddalur.
When he came to his village this morning, two Maoists, waiting for him near his house, opened fire killing him on the spot.
The assailants fled the scene.
