Kumaraswamy appoints Parliamentary Secretaries
Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today appointed two party legislators as Parliamentary Secretaries.
In a simple ceremony Mr Kumaraswamy administered the oath of office to Mr K Suryanarayana Reddy, representing Keragodu Assembly segment and Mr Mahima Patel of Channagiri, as his Parliamentary Secretaries.
Later speaking to newsmen, Mr Kumaraswamy has said that Mr Patel would be the State's representative in New Delhi and work towards getting early clearances for various State-specific projects pending at the Centre.
About his yesterday's meeting with the Parliament members of the state on Cauvery issue in New Delhi, the Chief Minister said that several suggestions were made to find solutions to the raw deal the state had got in the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal (CWDT).
He said the state government had convened an all-party meeting tomorrow on the Cauvery issue in which experts on irrigation issue and senior political leaders would participate. The government would also convene a meeting of writers and artists and take their opinion before finalising the next course of action.
''Taking into consideration the seriousness and delicacy of the issue, the government would take cautious steps before finalising its stand on CWDT verdict,'' Mr Kumaraswamy added.
