Journalists stage rasta-roko

Tirupati, Feb 23 (UNI) Journalists of various news papers and electronic media have staged rasta-roko at busy four pillar junction in the temple town today, protesting against the G O 938.

About 60 of them, led by Chittoor District Journalist Union President Giridhar and District APWJU Secretary Shanmukha Reddy, earlier in the morning took out a procession from Tirupati press club to four pillar junction. They raised slogans against the G O, allegedly brought by the state government to curb Freedom of Press.

They also condemned the government's undemocratic policies against the press. The traffic was blocked for more than half an hour following rasta-roko.
