Ticketless advocate caught at railway station

Chennai, Feb 22: Tension prevailed for a while at the crowded suburb Guindy railway station here last night, when an advocate of Madras High Court was caught by the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) for ticketless travelling.

Police said the advocate Sivakumar, who got into train from Egmore without a ticket was caught by the TTE when he alighted the train at Guindy station.

The advocate picked up quarell with the TTE by saying that hundreds of people were travelling daily with out tickets and even attempted to justify his action of ticketless travelling.

As the situation became worse, the TTE handed over the advocate to Station Master Uma at Guindy railway station, who in turn handed over him to Railway Protection Force (RPF) at St Thomas Mount for further action.

Though the RPF let the advocate go free, after advising him not to travel without valid tickets here after, the advocate lodged a complaint with the Guindy police station against Ms Uma and the RPF personnel, stating that he was abused by the Guindy Station Master and the RPF, police added.
