Protesting Kannada activists court arrest
New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) A group of Kannada activists led by Chamarajanagar MLA Vatal Nagraj, courted arrest holding a noisy demonstration outside Karnataka Bhavan today while Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy held a meeting of state MPs ahead of Parliament Session.
The protestors, shouting slogans against the final orders of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, were bundled into a police van after 15 minutes of efforts to get into the meeting venue.
Meanwhile, Mr Kumaraswamy is currently briefing the MPs about their stand on the contentious Cauvery issue.
Karnataka has been allocated 270 tmc of water out of 740 tmc of Cauvery water as against 419 tmc for Tamil Nadu and 30 tmc for Kerala and seven TMC for Puducherry.
