PCC to launch movement in Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 22(UNI) The West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee will launch a statewide movement demanding implementation of the Sachar Committee report for uplift of the Muslims in the state.

Speaking at a seminar on communal amity, All India Minority Forum President Idris Ali said the movement would be spearheaded by the newly formed committee of the PCC minority cell.

Mr Ali is one of the joint convenors of the eight-member committee, constituted to make the people aware about the recommendations of the Sachar Committee.

Criticising the Left Front Government, Mr Ali alleged that the Sachar Committee report had exposed the acts of negligence the minority people were subjected to in the state.
