"It was a dream came true": Robin Uthappa

Bangalore, Feb 22 (UNI) Its dream come true for India's new find in the opening slot Aiyudda Robin Uthappa, who is making a world cup debut.

''It was a long cherished dream of making it to World Cup Team.

I was dreaming of wearing Indian colour in the World Cup and it is fulfilled'' the dashing opener who came up with an inspired performance in the recent series against the Lankans.

''If god wills I am sure we will bring back the past glory by winning the World Cup", Robin said while replying to a felicitation offered to him by Jain Group of Institutions here today.

However, the promising batsman hastened to add that the dream was realised through dedicted and hard work and it did nto come all of a sudden.

" My sincere advice to students is that have a dream and work in achieving it.... in the process set up a goal and show commitment certainly you will achieve. There is nothing which cannot be achieved in this world. But you should work hard". he said Twenty One year old Robin, who made debut against England at indore in 2006, had so far played in eight ODIs and has scored 255 with highest score of 86 in his debut match.

Son of international Hockey referee Venu Uthappa, Robin had played for the country in Under-19 and Ranji trophy. At one time he was a wicketkeeper batsman, but he gave up wearing gloves to concentrate on batting and occasionally bowls medium pace.
