Iran defies deadline to halt atom work--UN watchdog

VIENNA, Feb 22 (Reuters) Iran failed to suspend uranium enrichment activity by February 21, ignoring a UN Security Council deadline to halt work the West fears could lead to Tehran building an atomic weapon, the UN's nuclear watchdog said today.

The refusal to heed the deadline exposes Tehran to possible wider sanctions.
