"Sun Tech Days 2007" rolls out

Hyderabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Sun Microsystems India today rolled out the eight edition of Sun Tech Days at the Hyderabad International Conventional Centre here.

Sun Tech Days 2007 highlighted the opportunities available for the developer community and sought to drive home the key messages of participation, sharing, and collaboration.

The conference was kicked off with an industry keynote delivered by Satyam Computer Ltd CEO Ramalinga Raju and Sun Microsystems Inc Executive Vice President (Software) Rich Green explaining how emergence of Web 2.0 technologies coupled with continuous movement towards open source is providing unique opportunities for developers to innovate and create value on the network.

Since its inception, Sun Tech Days had grown manifold to merge as the definitive developer forum for Java and Solaris Operating System communities in India and the world.

This year's event was kicked off with technical and hands-on sessions on all relevant areas of Java technology including Java Platform Standard Edition, Java Platform Enterprise Edition, Java Platform Micro Edition, as well as popular topics such as Solaris 10, Open Source, Web 2.0 and AJAX, a Sun Microsystems release said.

The conference underscored the need for Indian developers to move to the next level by collaborating, contributing and competing on global technology platforms.

The event also included sessions and self-paced Hands on Labs on developer tools such as Sun Java Studio Creator and developer days dedicated to the NetBeans Integrated Development Environment, OpenSolaris and Java University (JavaU) training.
