New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) The BJP today declined to comment on the announcement made by the Samajwadi Party to withdraw its support to the UPA government, saying it was an ''internal matter'' of the coalition.

Asked about the party's reaction, BJP Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said he had to make no comments on UPA's internal matter.

The BJP favoured President's rule in Uttar Pradesh in view of the Supreme Court's direction disqualifying the defector MLAs from the Bahujan Samaj Party, he added.

Dubbing as ''personal'' the statement by NDA Convenor George Fernandes who opposed President's rule in UP, Mr Prasad said the NDA will meet tomorrow to discuss its strategy for the coming Budget Session of Parliament.

Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav had favoured President's rule in UP.

He also declined to comment on the opposition expressed by NDA parties like the Biju Janata Dal and the Shiromani Akali Dal which favoured incumbent SP government to be allowed to demonstrate its strength on the floor of the UP Assembly on February 26.
