Ratlam horror: 125 more bones found

Ratlam, MP, Feb 21 (UNI) As many as 125 human bones, including several skull bones, were found this morning at a local mission hospital that has been making headlines for the unearthing of skeletal remains of infants and foetuses.

The premises were still being searched. The administration ordered cleaning of the tanks today, leading to the fresh discovery.

Between Saturday and Monday, 444 bones were found. The first excavation yielded 392 bones that belonged to at least 14 infants or foetuses.

Hospital Superintendent and accused Dr P William had told media that abortion was not carried out there but records later revealed otherwise.

''The bones were of foetuses that were four to eight months old,'' said a report by Bhopal's Medico-Legal Institute Director D K Satpathy.

Meanwhile, a JCB machine has been ordered into the hospital's premises again and a heavy police force deployed.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kantilal Bhuria inspected the hospital this morning after being invited by the management. Dr William told the Minister that the police allegedly misbehaved with her and the entire case was a conspiracy hatched by media and the police. Several Congress leaders accompanied Mr Bhuria.

''The case is being probed by the state government and it will not be proper to comment,'' the Minister told mediapersons.
