Karnataka Assembly adjourned to March 16
Bangalore, Feb 21 (UNI) The Karnataka Legislative Assembly was adjourned to March 16 for the budget session.
Both the Houses of the State Legislature were convened on January 25, when Governor T N Chaturvedi delivered a joint address to the members of both the Houses. The motion of thanks to the Governor's address was passed without reply as the main Opposition party Congress had staged a dharna, demanding immediate election to the Legislative Council Chairman's post. Proceedings in the Assembly and Council were totally affected on the issue.
The Legislative Council was abruptly adjourned yesterday, a day ahead of schedule.
The Assembly also discussed the recent communal disturbances in the city and Mangalore.
