HM clarifies on traffic signals
Hyderabad Feb 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today informed the State Assembly that 17 of the 98 traffic signals in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad were not functioning due to road widening and flyover work.
However, junctions were manned by traffic constables to ensure smooth flow of traffic, he said replying to a question from Mr M Ranga Reddy (Cong).
Annual maintenance was done by the city police and major repairs taken up by civic authoities and Cantonment Board.
The
government
had
asked
the
concerned
officials
to
carry
out
repairs
and
restore
the
working
of
the
signals
after
completion
of
road
widening
and
other
works,
he
added.'
