Seminar on reforming edu begins tomorrow

Agartala, Feb 20: A three-day seminar on 'Reforming Education inNorth-East India', will be held at the Tripura University near herefrom tomorrow.

Eminent academicians from different parts of the country includingDelhi, Kolkata, and the North-Eastern states as well asVice-Chancellors of different universities are expected to be presentin the seminar.

The seminar is sponsored by the Indian Institute of AdvancedStudy, Shimla, and organised by the Tripura University, officialsources said.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will be the Chief Guest, while Prof JB Ganguly, the first Vice-chancellor of the Tripura University hasagreed to inaugurate the seminar.

Mr P P Srivastava, member of the North Eastern Council (NEC)Shillong, will deliver the key note address and Vice-chancellor ofTripura University Prof Ashok Kumar Mukhopadhaya will preside theinaugural session, sources added.
