Jharkhand's CPI(M) condoles for Comrade Majumdar

Ranchi, Feb 20 (UNI) The Jharkhand state unit of CPI(M) today condoled the death of Polit Bureau leader Chittabrata Majumdar, Comrade Majumdar was suffering from severe infection in the lungs and was hospitalised.

The 71-year-old, veteran Left leader, is survived by his wife and a daughter.

He was re-elected as the general secretary of the 40 lakh-member organisation, Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU), in the recently held All India Conference at Bangalore.

He was also a minister in the Jyoti Basu-led Left Front government in West Bengal.

However, he left his ministerial post and devoted his time for organising the working class.
