Former TTD chairman's statue unveiled
Tirupati, Feb 20 (UNI) The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chairman B Karunakar Reddy unveiled a nine-foot bronze statue of Mr Chelikani Anna Rao, its first chairman, here this evening.
The statue, in a standing posture, was sculpted under the stewardship of Mr S Mani Achary.
In his long and distinguished service, spanning over three decades, Mr Rao had served in various capacities in the Tirumala Temple management starting as its 'temple peishkar', to executive officer and finally as TTD chairman.
'Administration of Temples', authored by him, is a reference book on management of places of worship. He is also revered as the 'Architect of Modern Tirupati' considering his contributions towards civic requirements in the town.
