CPI(M) understanding with TDP in Khammam for MLC polls

Hyderabad, Feb 20 (UNI) Reaching an electoral understanding with the Telugu Desam Party in Khammam for the Legislative Council poll, the CPI(M) in Andhra Pradesh has ruled out ties with the ruling Congress.

While the TDP would support the CPI(M) candidate for the MLC seat from the graduates constituency, the Marxist party would, in turn, vote for the TDP nominee to the Council from Local Bodies, CPI(M) State Secretary and Polit Bureu member B V Raghavulu told UNI here.

Stating there was no question of his party supporting the Congress anywhere in the State for the polls, he said the party Secretariat meeting, to be held here today would chalk out strategy elsewhere.

The party would contest one MLC seat from the State Assembly, which it was sure to bag on its own strength, he said.
