TUFS should continue: Rana

Surat, Feb 19 (UNI) Mr Kashiram Rana, MP, while urging the need to continue the Technology Upragadation Fund Scheme (TUFS), has said the Centre's decision to discontinue it will adversely affect the textile industry.

Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Rana said the TUFS was a major support for the textile industry and equips it to compete with the Chinese competitors.

The Planning Commission has recently recommended that it be stopped, Mr Rana informed, while cautioning that if the move is implemented, it will impede the growth of textile industry. The scheme should be continued for another five years, he said.
