Travel agent booked for fraud

Phagwara, Feb 19 (UNI) Police have registered a case against a travel agent Avtar Singh on the charges of cheating a villager in Kapurthala district.

According to the report lodged by Sukhbir Singh, he gave Rs six lakh in three instalments to Avtar Singh who promised to send him abroad.

But the travel agent neither sent him abroad nor returned the money. When he pressed Avtar Singh to give his money back at least, the travel agent disappeared.

The police was investigating the matter under Immigration Act and was searching for the absconding accused.
