High security on Thar Express following blasts
Jaipur, Feb 19: Security is being intensified on the Thar Express between India and Pakistan following the bomb blasts in the Delhi-Attari Samjhauta Express.
A special sniffer dog squad will now check the weekly train before it departs from Jodhpur for Munabao and Khokhrapar in Pakistan.
Deputy General Manager North-Western Railways S B Gandhi said Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force already check the train before its departure. But now a dog squad will be put in place to sniff out any explosives, Mr Gandhi added.
He said till now there has been no intimation from Delhi about the rescheduling of the train. The central authorities would discuss the issue first and take a final decision.
The train which begins its weekly round every Saturday, would run as per schedule, he said. There has been no effect on the ticket sale as selling starts two days before the scheduled departure.
The Thar Express between Munabao in India and Khokhrapar in Pakistan resumed its journey on February 17 after a gap of six months following floods in Barmer.
