Sayeed strongly condemns Samjhauta blast

Jammu, Feb 19 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed strongly condemned the blast on the Samjhauta Express in which at least 67 people, mostly Pakistanis were killed.

Terming the horrific attack as one of the most barbaric acts of terror, Mr Sayeed said the perpetrators of terrorism are the worst enemies of humanity, who have absolutely no respect for human lives.

He said time has come for the people of India and Pakistan to stand up against the auti-social elements resorting to such diabolic acts of madness. ''We must now jointly give such elements a befitting reply,'' he asserted.

Urging the people of the country to maintain unity at this moment of grief and shock, Mr Sayeed said such ghastly acts are the desperate attempts by the vested interests to sabotage the ongoing peace process in the region.

He has asked the leadership of India and Pakistan not to give in to the machinations of such anti-peace elements and instead strengthen their resolve to carry farward the peace process so that the believers of terror and violence stand completely isolated.
