Police evacuate Canadian embassy in Paris
PARIS, Feb 19 (Reuters) French police in chemical protective gear evacuated the Canadian embassy in Paris today after a member of staff was taken ill after opening a suspect letter, a police spokesman said.
''A suspect letter was received at the Canadian embassy by an employee. After opening it, the victim fell ill, so we launched the NRBC plan,'' the spokesman said, referring to the deployment of police in suits designed to protect them from nuclear, radiological, bacteriological and chemical hazards.
