'Oxyrich' gets ISO 22000:2005 certification

Pune, Feb 19 (UNI) ''Oxyrich'', the packaged drinking water product of the Manikchand Group of Industries, has received the ISO 22000:2005 certification.

This was announced by Mr Rasiklal Manikchand Dhariwal at a press conference here today.

Mr Dhariwal claimed that Oxyrich is manufactured through a technology that assures over 300 per cent oxygen content in the water. ''Pure oxygen is made to dissolve in water by a patented technology and the Indian patents authority has granted process patent to Oxyrich,'' he said.

Mr Dhariwal claimed that the ISO 22000:2005 certification is the world's most stringent standard for the food safety magement system.

Meanwhile, to a query pertaining to the CBI inquiry into the group's ''gutkha'' product which allegedly contains non-permissible substances, Mr Dhariwal claimed that the human body can tolerate 6mg of magnesium carbonate and the product does not exceed this limit.

Mr Dhariwal, answering a query, said the group had registered turnovers of Rs 800 crore and Rs 1000 crore in 2005 and 2006. The turnover is expected to touch Rs 1500 crore by 2010 end, he said.
