No privilege issue against Sunilam: BJP Govt

Bhopal, Feb 19 (UNI) The BJP government has no plan at present to move a privilege notice against Samajwadi Party member Dr Sunilam for creating hurdles during Governor Balram Jakhar's address to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on the opening day of the budget session today, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra said.

Reacting to the opposition attitude during the Governor's address, Mr Mishra told reporters it was not a healthy tradition to create hurdles during the address. The opposition member should have used other forum available to him if he had a genuine grievance, he said, there were many other forum available to the member.

The positive attitude of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had left no room even for the opposition to rake up agitations across the state, he said, adding the Congress had failed as an opposition.

Meanwhile, Dr Sunilam, while justifying his style of protest, said about 10 lakh poor people had been removed from the BPL list and agitators were being silence through brutal use of police force.

Pointing out that the BJP members in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly had not even allowed the Governor to address them, Dr Sunilam said the BJP was having separate yardsticks at different level. While the government was ignoring the problems of farmers, the BJP government had sanctioned several thousand acre land for setting up special economic zones. Industries were being given concessions even in registry of land and other taxes, he added.
