Janata Dal(S) condemns blasts in Samjhauta Express

Bangalore, Feb 19 (UNI) Janata Dal(S) today strongly condemned the blasts in Samjhauta Express in which at least 66 people were killed and several others were injured late last night.

In a statement issued here today, Party President H D Deve Gowda said that it was a dastardly and nefarious attempt to derail the Indo-Pak peace process by elements opposed to any rapprochement between the two neighbours.

He appealed to the people and the leadership of both the countries to maintain calm and display maturity in this hour of grief and express their united determination to thwart such attempts.

"India and Pakistan have chosen the path towards peace, progress and prosperity and this process is irreversible," he said.

Mr Gowda said that culprits behind this heinous crime should not be unpunished and all relief and assistance should be provided to the kin of the victims and the injured.
