Drug Inspector arrested on corruption charges
Hydeabad, Feb 19 (UNI) A drug inspector for Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on corruption charges today.
The drug inspector K Vinayak Rao was trapped at Kavali when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 2000 from a complainant for an official favour, a ACB release here said.
The accused was produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases Nellore.
In another case, a Panchayat Raj Deputy Executive Engineer T Surender Kumar of Nalgonda district was convicted and sentenced by the Additional Special Judge for ACB cases here to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and pay a fine of Rs 2500 for the offences under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
